Driver Struck Flagger Causing Serious Injury
Police are investigating the cause of the accident. They initially reported that the flagger was struck by an elderly driver traveling southbound on West Amosland Road. That is when, at about 12:03 pm, the vehicle crested the hill and rear-ended another car. That car was stopped waiting to make a turn at the bottom of the hill onto Welcome Avenue.
After the collision, the vehicle jumped the curb, striking the flagger. A local construction crew was installing sewer lines at the location. The victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital with serious injuries. It is unclear how serious the injuries were.
