Police and rescuers were called to the scene of an accident involving a tractor-trailer that struck the underpass support structure along I-295 in Burlington County. The crash happened at about 12:30 pm in the southbound lanes in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, just past Exit 40 – NJ 38.
The semi truck struck the underpass support structure beams, elevating Mount Laurel Road. The images from the accident showed intense damage to the tractor of the truck. The driver was extricated and flown to a hospital by helicopter. Unfortunately, the driver died from his injuries.
