The Details of the Fatal Tractor Accident
The initial investigation shows that the child was helping a family member dig a hole using the tractor-trailer when the accident occurred. The child was on the tractor with an adult at the time. For an unknown reason, the tractor overturned. This incident took place at about 5:35 pm. Rescuers were called to the scene to lift the tractor from the child. When they did, the child was unconscious. Paramedics applied lifesaving measures and then transported the child to Cooper University Hospital. That is where the child was pronounced dead.
The adult on the farm tractor also suffered serious injuries. They are non-life-threatening and were treated at the local hospital. It is not clear if police will apply any criminal charges against the adult male. The investigation was ongoing.
