Weather and Car Accidents
It is unclear what caused this accident, but news reports mention that it was dark and raining, both of which can contribute to an accident. When conditions are poor, drivers must adjust their driving to accommodate continued safety. When they fail to do so, that can lead to a risk of serious loss of control and injury.
It's important to remember that the weather itself is not an excuse for an accident. The at-fault party can still face claims. That is especially true in situations where they were speeding, fatigued, or intoxicated.
