Piecing Together What Happened
The motorcycle accident occurred along the 3800 block of North Delaware Avenue. According to early police reports, a 2020 Yiben motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed moving southbound on Delaware Avenue. The rider crossed over the center lane of traffic and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt. The head-on collision caused the rider to be ejected, traveling about 100 yards from where the crash happened.
The rider struck a 2003 Honda CR-V that was parked and disabled on the side of the roadway. The motorcycle continued on and traveled about 200 yards from the initial impact location. The drivers of the other vehicles remained on the scene of the accident and were working with policy.
The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital for care and was reportedly in critical condition. Police reported the rider suffered from a fractured leg, cuts, abrasions, and a serious head injury. Police have not reported whether the rider will be charged in the accident.
