Workers Hurt After Accident
News reports indicate that seven people were hurt after a car crashed into the shuttle bus. The incident happened at 6:40 am at the intersection of Columbus Boulevard and Reed Street. The car was a 2023 red Honda Civic Sport heading southbound along Columbus Boulevard. It crashed into the front driver’s side of the 2019 white Ford shuttle bus that was traveling eastbound along Reed Street.
The impact momentum was significant enough to cause the bus to spin and then overturn. It finally came to rest across Columbus Boulevard and the adjacent Conrail railroad tracks. The passengers, described as nurses, needed medical care. Two were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, one was taken to Methodist Hospital, and four were taken to Jefferson Hospital. At least one person suffered critical injuries, but was later upgraded to stable.
