Getting Help for Victims
According to the neighbor, they tried to help those in the vehicle, but the car was smoking. A second video shows the SUV striking and toppling a utility pole before coming to a stop after crashing into a concrete wall.
Rescuers had to use the jaws of life to free the two people who were trapped inside the SUV. One of those two people died from their injuries, while the other was in critical condition. The driver of the minivan was hospitalized and is said to be in stable condition. It is unclear how fast the SUV was traveling in the 25-mile-per-hour zone, but neighbors reported the area is dangerous.
