Details of the Black Horse Pike Wreck
When authorities arrived, they found a 2007 Pontiac Vibe that was traveling eastbound on Black Horse Pike had drifted off the roadway and was on the shoulder. There, it hit a temporary traffic construction sign and a utility pole. The impact with the pole caused the car to rotate and, eventually, overturn onto the driver's side. It finally came to rest in the eastbound lanes of the roadway. There was significant damage to the vehicle resulting from the numerous impacts.
Freeing the Driver
Rescuers on the scene had to extract the driver from the vehicle. However, the driver reportedly had non-life-threatening traumatic injuries. The fire department stabilized and transported the person to the AltantiCare Regional Medical Center – City Division's Trauma Unit for care. The accident closed down the roadway for some time while an investigation occurred and teams cleared the damage. Police hope witnesses will come forward to document what they saw.
