How the Accident Unfolded Remains Unclear
Limited details were initially provided about what occurred. Authorities have said the driver was operating their vehicle northbound in the right lane on Paramus Road. That is when the vehicle was struck by a deer that fell from the Garden State Parkway overpass onto the car.
The deer struck and pinned the driver in the vehicle because it impacted the driver’s side door of the Hyundai Tucson. The deer died at the scene of the accident. When the Paramus Police Department arrived, rescuers helped the driver get out of the vehicle on their own. The individual suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the incident. No other vehicles were involved.
Seeking Action Against Those at Fault
In an accident like this, it may seem there is little the driver could do to seek compensation. It may be necessary to examine why the deer was able to be on the overpass and whether any hazards were present that allowed the situation to unfold. A full investigation can help determine if any other party may be held accountable for the losses sustained.
