Operating Provides Insight
Information about the accident initially stated that the bus operator reported that a car struck a Route 125 SEPTA bus. That caused the bus to then strike the concrete barrier on the roadway. The crash happened between Montgomery Drive and Roosevelt Boulevard. It would back up traffic in the area for nearly two hours as crews worked to clear the scene.
Police did not provide much information about the accident itself. However, news helicopters overhead could see the SEPTA bus in the middle lanes on the roadway. Another vehicle was on the side of the road. There was noted damage to the front windshield and left side of the bus.
Delays stretched along I-76n to Passyunk for hours. The westbound side of the Vine Expressway heading back to I-95 southbound also suffered significant delays from the crash. Reports indicated that the operator of the bus and four passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. It is unclear what caused the wreck to occur, but police are still investigating.
