Piecing Together What Happened
The Falls Township Police Department was called to the scene of the accident at a home on the unit block of Thornridge Drive in Levittown at around 9:45 am. That is where police believe a blue Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling down Tamarack Lane at a high rate of speed. The driver failed to slow down at the intersection. They lost control, crossed the front lawn, and then slammed into the front of the home.
Police say that the driver was charged with DUI and reckless endangerment, among other violations. The house suffered serious damage. Even more worrisome, there were two young children and two adults in the home. The damage to the home made it uninhabitable. The car came to a stop against the dining room table within the home.
The driver of the car told police they lost control after swerving to avoid something in the roadway. The driver had glassy eyes and could not remember the details of the accident. The driver had a history of DUI and was required to use an alcohol interlock device, but failed to do so. The driver had several excuses as to what occurred.
