Children Were on Board at the Time
Police reported a school bus was crossing Pitman Downer Road traveling toward Orion Way. That is when another vehicle driving northbound on Pitman Downer Road hit the bus. Police did not provide information about what could have led to the accident.
However, the driver of the car was taken to the hospital. That person reportedly had minor injuries. Four children were also taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Police have requested any information the public may have.
What Happens When a School Bus Is in an Accident
This case is still under investigation. It is not clear who was at fault and had the right of way. If the bus driver had the right of way, the driver could be held liable for the damage to the bus and others involved. If the school bus driver was at fault, it may still be possible for victims to seek legal action, but the process is challenging. Filing a lawsuit against a public entity can be limited.
Seeking legal action is a must in either case. Kwartler Manus provides support for school bus accident victims. Request a free consultation with us now to learn more about the legal options available to you.
