Dump Truck Tips in 495 Accident

An accident along I-495 left a dump truck on its side, spilling debris onto the roadway. Authorities reported that police were called to the stretch of the Outer Loop just past Exit 41 in Bethesda in Montgomery County, for a report of a dump truck accident. The incident closed down a portion of the roadway for some time as teams worked to clean up the debris.

No details were provided about what caused the incident to take place or about the condition of the dump truck driver. It took some time to work the scene fully.

Causes of Dump Truck Accidents

Numerous factors could contribute to a dump truck losing control and spilling debris onto the roadway. The driver’s inexperience or distraction could have been a factor in some situations. If a driver is not focused on the roadway, a sudden change, such as an animal entering the road or a driver switching lanes, can lead to an accident.

Other times, a vehicle that is not maintained could fail to stop or have a tire blowout that causes an accident. In a dump truck, a shift in the material in the back could have led to the driver losing control as well.

We do not know what took place in this incident. However, as any dump truck accident lawyer will tell you, a full investigation done on your behalf as a victim is critical. Seek out a free consultation from Kwartler Manus to learn more about your rights.
