News reports indicate that an SUV struck a Burger King restaurant in Northeast Philadelphia on a late Friday morning. The incident took place near the 2500 block of Welsh Road on Leonard Street.
It is not clear what caused the accident, but rescuers arrived to find the driver in the vehicle. They were able to rescue them from the scene, but the driver did not appear to need medical care. No one was hurt in the accident within the building.
Images from the accident scene show a Red Hyundai Santa Fe well into the restaurant's dining room, so much so that it had nearly gone through the other side. There is no information about what caused the crash. Talk to a Philadelphia car accident attorney from Kwartler Manus today.
Why Vehicles Strike Buildings
There are many reasons a driver may lose control of their vehicle and strike a building like this. In most situations, police will determine the cause by evaluating all the evidence at the scene. In some situations, the driver may have struck the gas pedal instead of the brake while stopping. A medical condition may have caused the driver to lose control or black out. Reckless driving, especially speeding when taking a corner, can also propel a vehicle into a building.
