How does Vaping Effect the Contraction of COVID-19?

Lawsuits filed in February 2020 against vape company JUUL have now been amended to include the novel coronavirus as a potential side-effect of e-cigarette use. The initial suit filed against the company claimed they intentionally marketed their products to children and teens. Evidence also showed that the company shipped products to underage customers who purchased them directly from their website.

COVID-19 addition to JUUL lawsuits

The amendment considers statements from public health officials who warn that vaping puts consumers, especially underage users, at a higher risk of both contracting the COVID-19 virus and developing more serious symptoms. Similar reports began even before the coronavirus spread throughout the US in early March, with one doctor stating “reporting of respiratory symptoms by e-cigarette users suggests increased susceptibility to and/or delayed recovery from respiratory infections.” Since then, more medical professionals are revealing evidence that e-cigarette use makes COVID-19 both easier to develop and potentially more deadly.
