Drive Dies in Two-Vehicle Burlington County Crash

A two-vehicle Burlington County crash on Sunday, March 24th, took the life of one person, according to New Jersey State Police. Around 3:30 PM Sunday afternoon, the State Police and other emergency personnel were dispatched to Route 542 in the area of milepost 14 for the report of a multi-vehicle accident. The accident occurred in Washington Township.

Police reported that a Ford Mustang struck a Ford F-350 and both vehicles veered off the road into trees. The Mustang caught fire as a result of the impact. The driver of the Mustang died in the wreck. The police have yet to identify the driver. The driver of the F-350 was not injured in the crash.

The State Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and are asking any witnesses to provide information to them. Route 542 was closed for a significant period on Sunday afternoon into the evening as emergency personnel cleared the scene.
