The Memorial Day Weekend was off to a rough start in South Jersey. Traffic was backed up along Route 42 after an accident on Friday, according to officials. Talk to our Camden County car accident lawyers at Kwartler Manus today.
What Happened in Bellmawr on Route 42?
The crash happened near exit 14 for County Road 753 and Creek Road in Bellmawr at about 5 pm. Officials released limited information about news helicopters that captured images showing a grey SUV with significant front-end damage.
When first responders arrived, they found the grey-colored SUV had smashed into the guardrail near the exit ramp. It was unclear if any other vehicles were involved, and no update was provided about the condition of the driver. Police were investigating the cause of the crash as drivers tried to move around along the left shoulder.
Missing an Exit
It is not clear what caused this specific incident to occur, but what we do know is that the driver crashed into the guardrail and seemed to be the only vehicle involved. That can happen in the blink of an eye. The driver may bend down to pick something up, look down to adjust their GPS, or even answer a text message. In that moment, they lose control just enough to cause an accident. Sometimes they strike other vehicles, causing needless injuries to others.
