Car Strikes Pedestrian in Chester

A hit-and-run accident took place on a Saturday night recently in Chester, Pennsylvania. The incident left a woman dead and police seeking the driver.

According to police reports, the woman was crossing Route 291 at the time of the accident near Lamokin Street. That is where a driver struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene.

Police were called to the area around 9:30 p.m. and found the pedestrian unresponsive, lying in the roadway. She was transported to the hospital, where she died from the injuries sustained.

Police found the vehicle that struck the pedestrian in the Woodlyn area with very obvious damage, including two missing headlights.

Neighbors report that the street is confusing to navigate, especially at night, and there is a significant amount of traffic in the area. Neighbors reported hearing the accident happen. Police are still looking for the driver involved.
