A car crash led to the death of a passenger in an Uber vehicle. Police located surveillance video from a local business that showed the moment when a vehicle collided with the Uber vehicle.

The incident took place just after 7 a.m. in North Philadelphia. The Uber driver was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. The driver of the Nissan Maxima, which struck the Uber car, got out of the vehicle after the crash and fled on foot. Police are looking for the suspect, but they have identified who it is.

Further insight into the accident found that, just minutes before the accident, the Sheriff’s Office was attempting to serve the defendant with a domestic assault warrant at a residence on North Watts Street, about a half mile from the scene of the accident. While the suspect was fleeing, residents in the area reported that the intersection and street itself are a constant concern with drivers speeding down the roadway.

Fighting for Justice Can Be Challenging

The victims in an accident like this are forever changed by the reckless actions of another. For the family of the passenger, fighting for justice can seem impossible. Yet, it is critical to take legal action. As with the other victim, pursuing financial compensation can prove to be essential to getting justice.
