According to the New Jersey State Police, a pedestrian was killed in an accident last night along Route 55 in South Jersey. The crash occurred near the interchange with Route 322 in Mullica Hill, Gloucester County. The incident occurred in the morning hours of Monday, August 12th on the southbound ramp of Route 55 that leads to Route 322. The victim, a male, was walking on the shoulder of the exit ramp when he was struck and killed by a box truck being driven by a 20-year-old man.

Neither the driver nor the victim have been identified publicly by authorities. Emergency personnel who responded to the scene did not comment on any additional injuries. The police have not said if any charges will be filed in the crash.
