A hit-and-run driver in Whitemarsh Township, PA, struck a woman. The driver fled the scene on foot because the car was too damaged to drive, and then stole a car to try and flee. The driver was ultimately arrested in Philadelphia, but the pedestrian died as a result of the accident. The event occurred on a Friday afternoon on West Valley Road. Police reports indicate someone nearby heard what sounded like a crash, came out to see what happened, and found a Chevy Impala with the front end smashed and the airbags deployed.

Hit-and-run accidents occur frequently, but many times, the police find the person responsible. Even if they do not, victims’ families need to seek legal representation. Doing so could provide justice for your loved one. Talk to a car accident lawyer today.

Deadly Crash Resulted in Arrest

While police were able to take the hit-and-run driver into custody, they also searched the car for weapons. The police are unsure how the driver got a second vehicle to get away from the scene, though they believe they may have called a friend to pick them up. The investigation is ongoing.
