A bar fight led to an argument in a parking lot, leading to gunfire that caused a man’s death, according to police. The incident took place around 2:39 a.m. in the 3400 block of North 2nd Street. Though police did not detail what took place, they noted the two men got into an argument before one shot the other in the head.

In a tragic incident like this, it is common to believe that the only party at fault was the person who pulled the trigger. Yet, there are times when alcohol can be a factor and other times when negligent security can cause such devastating events to take place. In either of those situations, the bar owner could be held accountable if they failed to provide safety for their patrons.

Police Detail the Incident Was Prolonged

In this particular case, the police said the bar forced the patron to leave after the argument. He did and then came back to the property with a handgun. He then got into an altercation with security at the bar, and during that event, he shot the other person. Several parties were taken in for questioning in the incident.

If you believe your loved one was hurt because of the negligent actions of another person or because a location failed to provide safety that should have been expected, seek out a negligent security attorney.
