Police were called to the scene of an accident in Upper Darby on a Friday afternoon after reports of an overturned dump truck came in. News reports indicate that a dump truck was involved in an accident with several other vehicles on West Chester Pike at around 2 p.m.

It is unclear what happened in the accident. Video from the news reports shows a dump truck on its side after seeming to have struck a utility pole. There was also a maroon-colored SUV with significant damage just off the road in a parking lot. Other vehicles were also damaged in the nearby parking lot.

There was no update on whether anyone was hurt. The police are continuing to investigate what took place and who was at fault.

Determining Fault in an Accident with Multiple Vehicles

Accidents involving more than one vehicle can prove challenging to investigate. Police will speak to each of the drivers and passengers involved. They will pull video from nearby surveillance cameras if available, speak to witnesses, and use debris to clarify what occurred. If you are involved in an accident like this, it’s essential that you have clarity on fault. By hiring your own car accident attorney, you have an advocate working on your behalf to build a strong claim for you.
