A drunk driver plowed into two people who were on the picket line in Port Richmond, PA. According to police reports, the driver struck the two sanitation workers and then left the scene of the crime at around 11:30 p.m. The incident happened right outside the sanitation center along the drop-off site on North Delaware Avenue.

The two sanitation workers were sitting in chairs on the sidewalk. The driver then continued for another 100 feet and made a U-turn. That means the driver then passed by the scene, turning onto Castor Avenue nearby as they fled. Police were immediately called and were able to track down the driver within a few minutes, about ½ mile from the accident.

The driver was found in the SUV with open bottles of alcohol. There was also a passenger in the vehicle. Police took both individuals into custody.

Drunk Driving and Seeking Compensation

In this particular case, the victims included a pregnant woman and a man in their 30s. Reports indicated that the man suffered serious injuries, though no confirmation of what those were was provided. The woman was treated at the hospital and released. These victims have the right to pursue compensation against the driver who struck them and their liability insurance.
