An accident in Leacock Township, PA, resulted in four people with injuries that required them to go to the hospital. The Lancaster County accident occurred at approximately 3:27 p.m. at the intersection of East Newport and Queen roads. Although police were initially unsure of the cause of the incident, they reported that two cars had collided.

The fire company responding to the scene had to free two people who were trapped in the vehicle. Two others were also taken to Lancaster General Hospital. There was no update on the condition of any of the individuals. Photos from the accident showed that two blue vehicles were involved, with heavy driver and passenger side damage on one and significant right front damage on the other.

How Police Investigate Intersection Accidents

Determining the cause of an accident at an intersection can be challenging. Police will use evidence at the scene, including debris scattered throughout, as well as witness statements, to get a good idea of what happened. If there are still questions about fault, the police may use accident reconstruction services to determine fault. Getting it right is critical. Insurance companies will use this information to influence their decision on who to award compensation to after such an incident.
