Car Runs into Tree in Montgomery Township

A single-car accident took place in the southbound lanes of Route 202 in Montgomery Township on a Tuesday morning. The accident involved a white sedan that, for some reason, went off the side of the road, flipped on its side, and landed in a ditch and among trees about 20 feet off the roadway. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle without help.

The incident, which took place near County Line Road, was under investigation, and police were not sure what caused it. One person was transported to an area hospital for care.

Causes of Single-Vehicle Accidents

Single-car accidents occur frequently, but they are not always the driver’s fault. There are many outside factors that can play a role, such as a medical condition occurring and causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle may have experienced a mechanical malfunction that caused the brakes to fail or the tires to blow out. In other cases, another driver could have approached, causing the victim to swerve to avoid striking them. Animals and road conditions are additional factors.

In each case, police will investigate and try to determine the cause of the incident. In many of these incidents, the outcome of that investigation determines if the victim can recover any damages.
