At just before 12:30 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police received a call for help related to a four-vehicle accident along Route 22 in Bethlehem. Upon arriving, they found a box truck carrying food had overturned on the roadway. The accident led to the shutdown of several lanes of traffic as the incident was cleared.
News reports indicated the incident took place between the Airport Road South and Route 378 South exits. Initially, all lanes of traffic were blocked. Police reported some parties suffered injuries, but did not state the severity of the injuries or the number of people involved in the accident. It is also not known what caused the accident to take place.
Knowing Your Rights When in an Accident with a Box Truck
Box trucks are hard to drive vehicles because they are heavy, sometimes refrigerated, and often bulky, making them hard to see around. Box truck drivers do not always have a commercial driver’s license, either, which means the party behind the wheel may not have any extensive experience or training to navigate those vehicles. Fatigued drivers, distractions behind the wheel, and speeding are common reasons these accidents take place. We do not know what happened in this case, but when you are the victim of such an accident, seek legal guidance.
