3 year Old Struck and Killed by Car in Philadelphia

There is nothing more tragic than the death of a child that is preventable. According to police, a very young child was struck by a car in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia on a recent Sunday evening.

Initial investigations indicate that a three-year-old child was struck in the 3100 block of Teesdale Street just before 8 p.m. The car that hit the child remained at the scene. Rescuers took the child to an area hospital, but the child died shortly after.

Determining Fault Is Challenging

Car accidents involving children are never simple. In a case like this, we do not know all the details, including why the child was in the street or if the child simply darted out suddenly or was crossing the street when the accident occurred.

Police will investigate those details to determine the underlying cause and provide answers for the family members. Yet, that can be hard to do. Witness statements, evidence at the scene, accident reconstruction, and any videos from the surrounding area may provide some answers, if available.

If your loved one loses their life due to an accident caused by another person, even if you are unsure who is at fault, hire your own legal representation to investigate and find out the truth.
