Motrocyclist Killed in Easton

Police in Easton say that a motorcycle rider died in an accident that happened on Route 22 on a recent Saturday afternoon. Details indicate that the one-vehicle crash happened at 12:45 p.m. The incident closed down the westbound lane of traffic between the Easton Phillipsburg Toll Bridge and the 13th Street area for several hours.

There was little information provided about what took place. When police arrived, they found the rider sustained life-threatening injuries. They are seeking witnesses who may have seen what happened to come forward. Initial reports and calls into the police department indicated it was a two-vehicle crash, but police only found the motorcycle present.

Why a Single Motorcycle Accident Can Happen

There are various reasons why a motorcycle accident can happen with only one vehicle present. The rider may have lost control of the bike, causing the accident themselves. In other cases, there could have been debris on the roadway, or an animal may have caused the distraction. In some situations, victims suffer serious injuries from other drivers who leave the scene of the accident.

There is no information about what happened in this case, and no indication that another person or vehicle was involved. Police will investigate. For family, though, it can prove critical to seek help from a motorcycle accident attorney to ensure proper investigations happen to determine fault.
