Motrcyclists Killed in Mantua Philadelphia

A tragic accident occurred in the Mantua section of Philadelphia at around 1 a.m. on a recent evening. The incident took place at Belmont and Westminster avenues. That’s when police say a vehicle that was fleeing after a car meeting up in the local home improvement store’s parking lot hit a motorcycle rider, killing them.

Details of the accident show that the driver of a white Camaro was fleeing the parking lot in the 1500 block of N. 50th Street. The driver passed a stopped SEPTA bus, going around it, and as they did, drove into oncoming traffic. The Camaro driver then ran a red light at Westminster and struck the motorcycle rider. The rider was thrown about 40 feet, and the motorcycle struck another vehicle in the incident.

The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene on foot. Police caught up to them on the 800 block of N. 44th Street. Another passenger in the car was hurt and taken to the hospital. Police have not released the name of those involved or the condition of the passenger.

Motorcycle Riders Suffer Serious Injuries

Victims in accidents like this do not get to tell their side of the story. Distracted drivers, those under the influence, or those speeding through red lights often miss seeing a motorcycle until it is too late.

If your loved one died in a motorcycle accident, get justice for them by seeking the help of a motorcycle accident lawyer. Our legal team at Kwartler Manus, LLC, is always available to provide free consultations.
