Pennsylvania State Police report that a motorcycle accident resulted in the death of the rider after an accident on Interstate 476 in Radnor Township. The roadway, locally known as the Blue Route, was closed down for some time following the incident.
Police report that the motorcycle was traveling northbound. Witnesses saw the operator weaving in and out of traffic. They also noted that the weather was poor and road conditions were not ideal. At some point, the motorcycle operator lost control of the bike and fell onto the roadway. The operator then slid across several lanes of traffic, including in front of a white box truck. The truck, which was traveling in the left lane, struck the motorcycle rider in the roadway.
Witnesses reported that the box truck continued to travel north, not stopping. Witnesses reported that the driver of the truck probably did not see the rider and likely did not feel the impact. The motorcycle rider died at the scene of the accident.
Finding Justice in a Tragic Accident
This case may seem to indicate that, at least from initial reports, the motorcycle rider’s careless actions contributed to the incident occurring. While police continue to investigate that information, it is important for families to know they have options.
