Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Delaware County

Motorcycle accidents are always terrifying experiences because riders have virtually no protection from the speed and force of a vehicle. According to police in Delaware County, a hit-and-run accident took place with a motorcycle at 1:20 a.m. on a Saturday morning.

The news reported that the accident happened on Marshall Road near the corner of 69th Street. A surveillance camera caught the accident on camera. It showed a minivan turning onto Marshall Road and stopping at the intersection. Then, a motorcycle comes speeding down the hill and slams into the back of the minivan. The minivan leaves, and the motorcycle rider and their passenger are left in the middle of the road.

The two people on the motorcycle were taken to a nearby hospital. The driver died of their injuries while the passenger was expected to survive. The minivan driver did not cause this accident. However, police are searching for the hit and skip driver because they left the scene. That in itself is a criminal act.

Police also say that the driver of the minivan got out of their vehicle at some point and then walked back up to the scene of the accident on foot. Surveillance cameras caught the driver watching the entire investigation of the accident taking place. Even though the driver came back to the scene, they never identified themselves to police, which police called “odd.”
