Upper Salford Fire Co. and the Lower Frederick Fire Co. were dispatched shortly after 1 pm to the 2600 block of Shelly Road for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival at the scene, the assignment was upgraded to entrapment, and crews from Harleysville Community Fire Company were added.
Firefighters extricated the victim from the vehicle and turned them over to EMS for transport to a local hospital. There was no word on the victim’s condition. Two poles were severely damaged in the crash, keeping Shelly Road closed for hours on Sunday afternoon while utility crews made the necessary repairs.
