An NJ Turnpike accident turned deadly Sunday. The truck accident took the life of a truck driver on the New Jersey Turnpike in Bordentown, Burlington County, on Sunday morning.

According to the New Jersey State Police, the accident involved two Volvo trucks, leaving one driver deceased.

The accident occurred in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike around 4:30 AM on Sunday, February 18. The unidentified victim was driving a Volvo bobtail when it struck a Volvo semi. The bobtail then traveled off the highway and struck the sound barrier that divides the highway from residential properties.

The second collision caused the bobtail to burst into flames. The driver of the Volvo semi did not suffer any injuries and the crash is still under investigation by the state police.
