A tractor-trailer struck and killed a man on the New Jersey Turnpike on an early Sunday morning. The tragic accident occurred when the victim was outside the vehicle. According to troopers who responded to the scene, the man had been involved in an earlier crash just before this incident and was outside the vehicle. For some reason, he entered the right lane, which is when a Peterbilt tractor-trailer that was traveling southbound struck him.

The incident occurred in the southbound lanes near milepost 39 in Mount Laurel, Burlington County. The man died at the scene of the accident.

Tractor-Trailer Accident Causes

Tractor-trailers can carry as much as 80,000 pounds. They are traveling at freeway speeds, often with drivers who are very tired or on long routes. For victims of these accidents, the risk of fatalities is very high.

If your loved one is involved in a tractor-trailer crash, it can prove vital to seek legal representation. Your tractor-trailer accident lawyer will investigate all aspects of the case, including gathering commercial logs, driver records, and medical documentation, to determine what caused the accident. Mechanical failures, distracted drivers, or DUIs can also be factors.
