Police were called to the scene of an accident at milepost 1.3 in Carneys Point Township on the New Jersey Turnpike. They found that a wrong-way driver had caused an accident with another vehicle, resulting in four young teens dying.

The driver of a Dodge pickup truck was heading northbound in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike. That is when it struck a Mazda USV that was traveling south head-on. The Mazda was being driven by a 19-year-old, and three 18-year-olds were in the vehicle. After the Mazda was hit, it was then struck by a Freightliner tractor-trailer truck.

The driver of the car suffered serious injuries, and the driver of the truck was not hurt in the incident. The four people in the Mazda died at the scene. Police are still investigating the accident. Speak with a Salem County car accident attorney following the loss of a loved one in a crash.
