A home surveillance and dash camera captured a recent accident. The incident happened in the Society Hill neighborhood outside of Philadelphia on an early Sunday morning. As the driver was speeding through the area, it eventually struck a sedan. The sedan was providing an Uber rider with a trip at the time. The rider in the Uber reported that the vehicle was traveling in the bike lane and ran the red light. That is when the driver struck the sedan, causing serious damage.
Ultimately, police reported that the driver had just fled a traffic stop a few blocks from the incident along South Front Street. Uber’s dash camera and a homeowner’s surveillance video were helpful in determining who the driver was and capturing the incident clearly.
