A police officer was involved in a car crash with a stolen car. According to initial reports, a police cruiser tried to stop a car reported as stolen in Philadelphia. The incident happened near Satterfield and Duffield streets in Frankford.

Initial information states that the police officer tried to stop the vehicle, which then backed up into the police cruiser as it tried to get away. The officer was trying to pull over a white Ford when it crashed into the driver’s side door of the police cruiser. Initial photos from the accident show that both vehicles sustained serious damage, including the entire door of the police cruiser. There was no initial report of serious injuries involved in the accident. However, the accident is still under investigation.

Legal Rights After an Accident

If you are hurt in an accident like this, where the police are involved in pulling over another vehicle that strikes you, take the same steps that you would in any other accident. Move out of the way of harm and call 911 for immediate help. If you can check on others, do so, but in all cases, document the accident and injuries you have with photos. That helps you build your claim over time.
