Philadelphia police are investigating an incident that occurred in the 5000 block of Parkside Avenue at around 9:16 p.m. on a Thursday evening. According to initial reports, the medical personnel found a person on the side of the road with blunt force trauma to their face and a gunshot wound to the chest.

Witnesses reported that someone driving a light-colored SUV had thrown the person out of the vehicle as it was traveling eastbound on the roadway. The victim was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. Police learned that the victim lived close to where the incident occurred. Police are investigating video from a nearby adult daycare center and speaking to witnesses to determine what happened. No one was identified as a suspect, and no motive is understood at this time.
