A car struck a pedestrian in Washington Township, N.J., around 4:34 a.m. on an early Sunday morning. Police reported the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when a vehicle struck them on State Highway 42 near the area of Whitman Drive.

Driver Fails to Stop
The driver did not stop but continued southbound. Medical personnel arrived quickly to find the pedestrian unconscious. They were taken to Jefferson Hospital before being airlifted to Cooper University Hospital’s Trauma Center in Camden.
Police used automated license plate reader technology to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. They have not yet released information about who that is or if they will face charges for the accident.
