Police were looking for a driver who fled the scene of an accident after trying to run over a pedestrian in Darby, Pennsylvania. The incident took place at the Phillips 66 Gas Station on Main Street at about 6:30 p.m.
The incident may have been a part of a domestic dispute in which a man was picking up his girlfriend’s children from their father when he got behind the wheel and accelerated, trying to run over the father. A police officer witnessed the scene and called for backup as the driver fled. The driver struck other structures as he fled the scene.
The driver then crashed the SUV into a black SUV at the intersection of Chester Pike and Springfield Road, just a few blocks away from the gas station. At that point, a child was thrown from the vehicle while the driver ran. Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident.
Police Continue to Investigate
At the time of the news report, police were still looking for the driver and asking him to turn himself in. In this type of difficult situation, the victims of this incident could have suffered much worse outcomes.
