A devastating accident took place near the Philadelphia International Airport on a recent Thursday morning. According to initial police reports, a stolen blue Dodge Challenger was nearly cut in half as a result of the incident.

Reports indicate that the Dodge Challenger was stolen and was being driven in the area when the Tinicum Township police spotted it and tried to pull it over. The driver sped away eastbound along Bartram Avenue. The vehicle then struck an airport transport van that was turning left from 89th Street onto the westbound portion of Bartram Avenue. The front end of the shuttle was damaged significantly, and the driver’s side was smashed in.

The driver of the airport shuttle van was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the stolen car was taken to the hospital with injuries. However, the passenger in the Challenger died as a result of their injuries.
