Details About the NJ Turnpike Truck Accident

Officials were dispatched shortly before 7 am to the New Jersey Turnpike for the report of a motor vehicle accident with an overturned truck. Emergency personnel arrived on scene in the northbound lanes just north of Exit 5 in Springfield Township, Burlington County, to find an overturned truck and a second truck involved in the crash.

All northbound lanes and the left shoulder were initially blocked by the crash, which caused one truck to jackknife and overturn, leaving debris all over the highway.

The driver of one of the trucks involved suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Police did not say what led to the crash between the two trucks. Traffic was delayed for more than one hour as crews cleaned the debris and tow trucks removed the vehicles.
