A car accident in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia resulted in the death of an individual, according to police reports.
Police were called to the scene of an accident on the 200 block of Pelham Road at around 3:30 a.m. Their initial investigation shows that the driver of a 2017 Dodge lost control of the vehicle before striking a snowbank and then crashing into the fence of a home. The driver was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries but lost their life a short time later.
Police stated no other vehicles were involved in the accident, and no one in the home was hurt. They still do not know why the incident occurred. Call Kwartler Manus to speak with a Philadelphia wrongful death lawyer.
Who Is At Fault If the Weather Is Bad?
In Philadelphia, the weather can become a critical factor in determining why car crashes happen. It is not known yet what caused this driver to lose control. A patch of black ice from poorly maintained roads could be a factor. Another driver coming towards the victim may have caused them to swerve and strike the snowbank. Distraction and fatigue, both critical factors this late at night, can often be a concern. Determining fault is not possible until all of the details are known.
