Fault in an Accident with an Emergency Vehicle

Many facts are unknown in this particular case. However, police will investigate all evidence available to determine fault. When a fire truck is alerting with sirens and flashing lights, drivers must move out of the way or stop. However, intersections are challenging. If a driver is distracted, has the radio too loud, or is otherwise impaired, they may not be able to react in time.

If the fire truck was not alerting at the time of the accident, the drivers have the same rights in terms of entering the intersection. Typically, the driver traveling straight has the right of way over a driver turning left.
