Single Victim Yet to Be Identified

Police reports say that a Tesla was traveling on Somers Point-Mays Landing Road in the early-morning hours of August 18th when it ran off the road. The incident occurred near the intersection with Ocean Heights Avenue.

The vehicle involved in the wreck was a Tesla SUV Model Y. A single occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel. The vehicle reportedly hit multiple trees after leaving the road before catching fire.

The victim has yet to be identified. Emergency personnel from Hamilton Township, including Laureldale and Mays Landing fire personnel, and AtlantiCare paramedics responded to the crash. The victim’s body was transported to the Southern Regional Medical Examiner.
