A terrifying accident took place at a condo in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, recently involving a car that crashed into the home. At approximately 1:49 a.m., a sedan crashed into a condo on the 3600 block of Saxony Drive. Neighbors were fearful of the safety of the elderly couple that lived in the home. They did not initially respond, even as neighbors knocked on the door. Neighbors said there were wires on the ground, a gas smell, and the smell of smoke.

Eventually, the couple did leave the home. There were no reported injuries from the accident. Police believe the driver who struck the home suffered a medical episode, which caused them to lose control of their vehicle. Police reported not pursuing charges against the driver.

What Victims Can Do When Charges Are Not Filed

In a situation like this, whether there are injuries or not, the victims suffering losses have a very real need to seek legal action. Even if the driver is not charged with a crime, victims can still seek financial compensation by filing a claim against the insurance policy of the at-fault party. Doing so is often necessary, but it can be difficult. Working with an attorney can help.
