The Colmar Fire Company was called out to a fully engulfed car on fire on Bethlehem Pike / Route 309 in Hatfield Township at around 10:23 p.m. The incident took place in Montgomery County, in front of the Circularix facility at the 1700 block of Bethlehem Pike. Upon arrival, firefighters found the engine compartment on fire, which later spread to the rest of the vehicle. Teams were able to extinguish the blaze after some time.

The vehicle was in the southbound shoulder of the expressway at the time of the incident. It shut down Route 309 southbound for some time while police and firefighters worked to put out the flames and clear the scene. There were no reported injuries in this situation.

Determining the Cause of a Vehicle Fire

If another party was involved in this type of incident, it would be critical for police to investigate what caused the fire. For example, if the driver failed to maintain the vehicle and it ran out of oil or a fuel leak took place, the driver could have been responsible for the injuries caused to another. If the person driving the vehicle borrowed it from someone else and that person failed to maintain it, the victim could file a claim against that party.

Various scenarios could happen in a situation like this. When you are the victim, your best course of action is to seek the help of an attorney to guide you through the legal process. Turn to Kwartler Manus for more insight.
