An accident in the Eastwick neighborhood of Philadelphia led to the death of a driver, according to law enforcement. Limited details are available about what caused the accident. However, when police arrived at the scene, located at the 7800 block of Penrose and Ferry Road, around 1:42 a.m. on a Sunday morning, they found that a vehicle had crashed into a concrete pillar.

Police reported the 2016 Nissan Rogue was traveling at a high rate of speed down the roadway when the driver lost control of it. That led to the vehicle striking a concrete pillar. The car caught fire. Police also reported that someone passing by pulled the driver of the vehicle out of the car but left the scene before police arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital but later died of his injuries.

Fault in Single Car Accidents

Police are investigating this accident to determine what happened and gather more details. In a single-car accident, it may seem that no one else was at fault. Yet, that is not always the case. The driver may have overcorrected due to another driver’s actions on the roadway. Sometimes, factors such as fatigue or an animal in the roadway can contribute to the accident. For victims of serious accidents and those involving fatalities, it is critical to have an attorney who can provide a full investigation into what happened.

At Kwartler Manus, our Philadelphia car accident lawyer is always available to answer questions and provide guidance on what could have happened and who may be at fault in an accident.
