Police are investigating an accident that involved a stolen vehicle and an accident in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. The initial information shows that police took two people into custody. That happened after the driver of the vehicle hit several other cars. During that process, the driver struck and killed at least one person.

This accident, which happened at the intersection of North 2nd Street and Cheltenham Avenue, occurred just before 11 p.m. Initial reports indicate that the driver of the stolen vehicle, a Dodge Durango, was speeding down the street when they lost control of the vehicle and crashed the car. The vehicle eventually collided with a Hyundai Sonata in the intersection. The driver of the Sonata died at the scene of the accident. Another person was hurt.

Police stated that the Durango was reported stolen before the crash occurred. That led to the arrest of both the driver and the passenger in the SUV. Police are investigating the scene and collecting debris that was strewn around the region to piece together what happened.
